We are passionate about supporting our children to achieve their full potential and aim to give every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), which sets standards for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5 years old. The key areas of learning are:
Our team are passionate caring individuals with a wealth of knowledge and education.
We have over 40 years combined experiences in childcare care. We hold varying qualifications from a level two child care all the way up to qualified reception teachers.
We are consistently updating our knowledge by undertaking regular training and learning new skills. Both managers have attended specialist SEN training with the national portage association.
Our lovely day nursery has a warm and welcoming feeling as soon as you walk in.
Based in the Triangle Centre, which was previously the village's primary school, we have two large activity and learning rooms with a secure outside space for the children to enjoy.
It's a great location for commuters and within walking distance of Liss Forest, West Liss, Hill Brow and Rake.
We are open Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm (term time only) for all children aged 12 months to 5 years old.
At First Steps we accept government funded childcare, for all children aged 9 months to 5 years of age.
Please check the government childcare choices website for guidance on what funding you are eligible for and how to apply. It is important to do this as soon as possible to ensure you are eligible and that your funding is available for us to claim, as there are cut off periods for applications and start dates that are unchangeable as stipulated by the government.
